An equilibrium constant can be calulated from the standard Gibbs free energy of reaction and the temperature by use of the relationship ΔG=-RT⋅ln(k)

The temperature of reaction can have a strong effect on the position of the equilibrium.
It is important not to confuse the equilibrium constant with a rate constant of reaction, since they can both be represented by the letter k.
Note that this relationship does not give any information about the rate of reaction, since that is dependant on the height of the energy barrier of reaction (the activation energy).
