Hi,
I'm new to this site so apologies if my question seems silly. I'm new to websites in general! I am attempting to build my own site where I am selling clothes that I make. Unfortunately many of my customers don't know their own dress size and it drives me crazy having to work it out for them, I haven't the time to be answering on the emails. What I would like is to find a way to incorporate a small tidy and non obtrusive calculator in the corner of my web page so they can do it themselves. I also have another problem, many of them are from overseas so they don't know their UK size either, so I could do with two calculators or perhaps one that does it all.
I haven't a clue where to start. I have seen a good dress size one here on this site but have no idea whether these can be downloaded or not and who I pay if anyone for the privilege. I've read through pages and pages of info here on this site but I'm none the wiser. I really need plain and not too technical advice please!
Thank you!

Vicky x :)

Hi Vicky.
It's always good to hear that our calcs are being useful.
Right now there's not a legal way for you to put our dress size calculator on your site. However, we have thought about that possibility and maybe we will be able to do that soon. I'll let you know.
In the meantime, I would simply suggest that you link to the Calctool dress size calculator from the relevant page on your site. That should be all that your customers need to stop having to bug you. If there's any way I can help you, just post again here.
Thanks,
Andy

Hi again Andy, Having one problem with this calculator. It has filled in minus signs...? These have to be deleted before measurements can be filled in. Is there anyway of losing these?

http://www.calctool.org/CALC/other/home/dress_size

Why are they there?

Thanks

Hi Vicky.
Unfortunately the way you've done it is not legal, since you have used CalcTool code for pages on your own site. To be legal, you either need to make the link go to the CalcTool website itself, or you need to get permission from me (as the copyright holder). By the way, the reason for the ads is to support the cost of the site hosting. It doesn't bring in much more than that, but without it, I would not only be writing and maintaining the site for free, but also paying for its upkeep!
Anyway, I can see what you're trying to do, and I think we can sort it out in a way that will suit you. I will send you a personal message to discuss it further. :D
Andy
